Nestled at 3825 46th St, this local hotspot invites you to savor classic dishes that consistently delight the palate and bring a taste of comfort with every bite.
The star of many visits is the ginger beef—a dish praised repeatedly by customers for its perfect balance of crispy texture and bold, savory-sweet flavor that feels both nostalgic and exciting. The buffet option, favored by patrons like Rollie Thomson, offers a broad range of dishes, though the chow mein might feel a bit simpler with just noodles, it remains a comforting staple complemented by other more vibrant offerings. Rocky Coats raved about the chicken wings served alongside their order, highlighting the kitchen’s generosity and ability to surprise in the best way.
What sets China Palace apart is not just the food but the warmth and friendliness of the staff and owners, who have cultivated a welcoming atmosphere even amidst ongoing renovations. Regulars like Wendy Shoop-Oliphant attest to the consistent quality and personal touch, recounting how the owners remembered her favorite dishes after a two-year break—a testament to the care poured into every order.

Went for buffet and it was great. I liked everything but the chow mein could have used a bit more ingredients it was pretty much just noodles. The ginger beef was spot-on fantastic I quite enjoyed that. I would recommend this place and I will go back for sure the people who own it and work there are super friendly..

Haven’t been at this restaurant for about 2 years. There’s been renovations and can’t dine in. This used to be one of my favourite places. After a 2 year hiatus the owners still remembered my go to favourites. I was surprised. The food here is delicious and the service is excellent. Neither of those factors can be improved on. The fact that it’s only takeout is the drawback, it’s really too bad for the restaurant that the owner of the building is so slow with the renovations,

Just move to Ponoka and ordered take out. The food was fantastic and great service. The building is a little sketchy because it is under construction but it's worth going.

Always such a great meal from here. Nice to have a local place in Ponoka that isn’s about the frill, they are about having decent food. If it isn’t up to your standard, you should probably go to Edmonton and pay double. I love this place.

We live outside Lacombe and our favourite is Annie’s but I heard about this place and wanted to try it. Yes the outside and Reno’s make it look a little scary but the food is amazing! Had dinner for one combo F. Very nice, hot, and crispy ginger beef. We will be back! Great location and so much potential when stampede comes.
